Energy laws and logic

The laws of the physical universe were very gradually comprehended throughout all of history.
At first, man tried to explain what he saw through his own invention, trying to adjust the facts to this imaginary cosmic architecture.
When technological advances permitted us to amplify the field of the perceived universe, scientists began to formulate laws that explained many of the phenomena of the macro and microcosms. These new laws, based on reason and mathematics, seemed to be omnipotent in explaining everything for a time, exactly up to the discovery of certain physical phenomena that boldly defied logic, like Quantum Theory.
Currently, physicists are divided into two large groups: those that think everything can be explained through logic and math (and, as such, be comprehended by the brain), and those that think we are discovering a universe that is only logical up to a certain point, behind which a mysterious field expands.
This field seems illogical and paradoxical to the brain, and can not be comprehended by reasoning. If this is happening in the physical field, we can imagine how complicated things may be in the energetic or subtle universe, which involves the mind. The affirmation that "people that come together to meditate generate much more energy than when they are alone" does not seem at all logical to rational people. And much less if "two people can be together energetically even if they are separated by great distances." Any person who is strictly attached to physical facts, will discard these sayings as just more pre-scientific ramblings. Nonetheless, affirmations like these are different from imaginary structures: they can be proven using scientific methods. Even if the existence of subtle energies can not yet be directly proven in a laboratory, it's effects can.
The idea of subtle energy fields is infinitely more "illogical" and "paradoxical" than a quantum universe, for example. Nevertheless, it is an overwhelming reality for those that can directly perceive it and - especially for everyone else – those who have proven it through scientific experiments, but these only capture the exterior, its outer shell.
The emotional states of happiness, clarity, creativity, and magic can not be translated into scientific formulas, and when one finds himself in these states, proof of this kind is something completely superfluous.
The most important thing about the Global Wave of Energy is that through the use of its subtle laws, the human mind and its general state of energy can be transformed. This will come accompanied by a multitude of strange phenomena, of course, but that is not what matters; what matters is the intervention of the cosmic order here on earth.

Sleeping during the Global Wave of Meditation

Absorbing the energy radiated during the Global Wave can be done through a profound relaxation during which, if we are asleep, is much better. The theosophists made themselves sleep during Wesak, in order to travel in their astral bodies to the Himalayas, and those that didn't know how to do this simply tried to sleep in order to capture some of the abundant energy freed during the ceremony. Sleeping with a predisposed, determined mind is completely different than "taking a nap"; in any case, it is something that one can and should experience for himself.

Technique
There are 3 steps:

  1. Become relaxed, as always.
  2. Then, after reaching total relaxation, decide, internally, that in the event you should fall asleep, your body will be receptive to the subtle energies radiated by global meditation. This decision can take the form of "orders" given to the physical body, an entity which is separate from you. You should speak to your body like you would speak to a child. In esoterism, this is known as "the physical element."
  3. When you have finished with relaxation and guiding your body, try to sleep.
    This alone is sufficient.
You can see its effectiveness by observing how you feel when you get up later.
It's good to do various experiments, like doing the same thing outside of the Global Wave schedule, or simply comparing these states with those of normal relaxation during the Global Wave.
All of this is part of the process of learning about subtle energies.

Styles of Yoga and the Global Wave

The various styles (or schools) of Yoga are different precisely because they have other objectives besides the basic one which is union with the absolute, common to anything that is considered "Yoga." As such, we have at one extreme the "gymnastics" schools, which are just a mixing of contortionism and stretching, with a bit of respiratory and relaxation exercises. In these styles - which call themselves "yoga" but are not truly yoga - importance is given to physical achievements, completely tossing aside the psychological-energetic ingredients.

On the other hand, at the other extreme are the "mystical" Yoga schools, which we're also not quite sure should truly be called Yoga schools, since they are belief systems that lack any type of physical practices more than a vegetarian diet and a few other restrictions, perhaps with mantras, chants, and studies. In these schools, the physical achievements of Yoga are completely unnecessary, and the only thing that matters are "spiritual" achievements. These currents usually feed into closed sects.

Between these two extremes there exists a large variety of Yoga styles, with more or less importance given to the physical aspects (Hatha Yoga), and the truly spiritual (Raja Yoga, with its truest expressions being the original Buddhism and the teachings of Krishnamurti). We have, for example, excellence in the physical practices of Yoga, which are styles derived from Krishnamacharya, specially the Desikachar style. That style was practiced - and recommended - by Krishnamurti, after a bad experience with another Krishnamacharya disciple, B.K.S. Iyengar.

Krishnamacharya learned this type of Yoga from a hermetic master in the Himalayas, Ramamohana, who sent him out to diffuse it in the world at the beginning of the 20th century. This style of Yoga and its right derivatives are, according to our point of view, the best ones, and we also highly recommend their practice.
Cosmic Yoga is based on the exercises of this style of Hatha Yoga, having extracted other elements, especially those of Tai Chi. It has also integrated our current knowledge of Galactic Astrology.
Cosmic Yoga places all its emphasis on the creation of an intense subtle energy state in the smallest amount of time, adapting itself to different comogenic tendencies. In other words, its a system that is most convenient for westerners, who are always short on time, and in general have very little experience with subtle energies. In Cosmic Yoga, that which is energetic takes precedence over that which is physical.

We will always recommend the styles derived from Krishnamacharya, Desikachar, A.G. Mohan, Ramaswami, Poornananda and his disciple, Gautama.

We don't recommend the Ashtanga, Iyengar styles by having an excessively athletic, even violent, spirit.

Meditating according to one's own state

This is a breakdown of the possibilities according to our state at the start of the Global Wave.

  • If you find yourself intense, attentive, awake, observing everything, with a heightened sensitivity: it's not necessary to do anything, since you are already naturally generating and radiating energy.
  • If you are intense, but lack sensitivity and attention: sit in silence observing your thoughts, feelings, and physical sensations.
  • If you are very distracted, but with physical energy: it is preferable to begin with a short Yoga session and then meditate.
  • If you find yourself with no physical energy, with no desire to move, but perceptive and aware: breathe, relax, and then sit in silence with inward attention.
If you find yourself lacking energy and with a dull mind: have a deep Yoga session, or go out and walk among trees.
  • If you are sick, or too weak to take a walk or do yoga: relax on the floor, trying to receive the waves of subtle energy that are being generated during the Global Wave.

What's important in the Global Wave is...

...to generate an intense wave of subtle energy .

This can be done by:
  • Relaxing profoundly.
  • Sitting quietly, in silence.
  • Observing oneself. This includes the body, emotions, and mind.
  • Relax your eyes, your hands, and breathe with deep sighs.
  • Connecting with Nature in an open state, in communication with the trees, the animals, and the Earth.
  • Doing Yoga, Tai Chi, walking meditation.
  • Reading : Buddha and Krishnamurti, especially. Adequate poems: Keats, Shelley.
  • Music, to later sit in silence: Beethoven, traditional music from India, New Age
  • Meditation. It is the soul of the Global Wave.

Planes and polarities

We have 3 planes: mental, emotional, and physical. And there are 2 polarities (feminine and masculine), whose combinations give way to 4 possible types of energies:
  • Masculine
  • Feminine
  • Bipolar (masculine and feminine in discord)
  • Harmonious (masculine and feminine in harmony)
Polarities impact us in different ways within the planes; due to this, a person can have a body with very masculine characteristics but posses a feminine sensitivity, and, at the same time, a bipolar mind.
Of these four possible types of energies, only one, the harmonious, is complete it itself. A general energetic state of harmony is manifested in a balanced body, emotional peace, and a perceptive mind.
During the Global Wave, we try to generate and immerse ourselves in the harmonic energy state.

What to do when we feel apathetic

The majority of the time our general state is not the best for meditation.
Our body may feel heavy, our emotions plagued with unstable feelings, our mind wandering and confused... so what do we do?
When we are with an energy of this nature, it's improbable that we will be able to quickly generate a creative field of energy. But the following ideas can greatly help us so when we get up from meditating we are surrounded by harmonious energy.

Upon sitting, consider that in this very moment there are many other people meditating all over the world, and many of them are radiating abundant harmonious energy, and that this global wave of energy is there precisely for those who need it.

In the same way, if we tend to be one of those who generate this energy, and now find we need it, we can first receive the energy radiated by fellow participants in order to harmonize ourselves, charge ourselves, and then we too will radiate energy. Just by perceiving, by experiencing that we form part of such a group we are connected with its energy, as if we were all together in a room.

Read something transcendental.
There is nothing better than books by Krishnamurti and Buddha, but photos of Nature and good poems can also work. These works are in themselves a type of channel that transmits energy directly to the reader.

Do exercises: respiratory, especially the alternated breathing of Yoga, and relaxation exercises, especially with your hands and eyes. If even this is hard for us, it is better to do a short Yoga session.

If we are really so restless and unstable that we can't even read or do Yoga exercises, the best thing to is to take a lively walk, with an alert mind, taking in the sky, the trees, etc., feeling everything, observing our mind.
Walking with a meditative mind is in itself a very effective way to harmonize and energize ourselves; it is equivalent to sitting in silence.

Be in direct contact with Nature.
Rest beneath a tree without doing anything specific, bathe in an ocean or river, go to where there is open sky to look at the clouds, etc.

Natural beings will never stop radiating abundant harmonious energy, we just have to let them "impregnate us."

The essential unity

Buddha said:
“When the Buddha reached illumination, all of the beings of the Earth were also illuminated."

This teaching of Buddha has profound meaning.
He was a human like all of us, and the human mind is essentially one, although it is manifested in millions of physical bodies. His illumination was the illumination of all of humanity, even though we may not directly realize it.
This same humanity is just one part of the whole mind of this world, and as such, is it also true that all other beings also were illuminated, something that sounds mysterious to us, as many other entities - for example, the spirits of the Jungles, the great spirits of the Mountains, of the Sea, etc - seemed to already be illuminated.
Krishnamurti spoke greatly about the states of consciousness where he was all things, about states of unity with everything that were sometimes perceived by people who were close to him during those moments. He also said "you are the world, and the world is you."
Many people can relate experiences full of well-being where the sensation of separateness totally dissolved, being substituted by an extremely clear vision of a unity which is luminous and void, completely essence. During these states it is very evident that the internal state and action of just one person impacts all of humanity in an inevitable way. A change in one of us causes a change in the totality of the human mind, in the entire Earth.
Comprehending something new, dissipating confusion, and discovering a new truth are all another step towards the end of suffering for all beings.

Creating a place of energetic radiation in the city

The few people that have a small piece of secluded Nature should be considered very fortunate in today's world, where it's normal to live in heavily populated places.
More commonly available is an empty room, with an opening to a garden or treetops, or maybe a good view of the sky. In that case, we can follow these simple guidelines in order to create a site of concentrated energy in our houses (a "place of energetic radiation").

Firstly, try to not do any unharmonious or vulgar activities in this area; just yoga, Tai Chi, meditation, reading of related books, etc.
In this room there can be mats and pillows (maybe a folding chair), some books, incense, music, paintings or pictures of Nature, etc. The important thing is to stop other people's chaotic energy from interfering with the creation of the energetic center.
As the presence of Nature is very important, we can have plants, or have an open window that goes out to a place with trees, a garden, or the sky.

Cats and dogs emanate, likewise, abundant natural energy, as they are still children of Nature (when they have not been unharmonized by people). But even if we don't have all these things, we can still create a small place of energetic radiation inside a house, in the corner that is least inhabited.
We can dedicate a chair (be it an armchair, a large pillow, or a mat) just for this practice and meditate accompanied by natural beings, if possible. With time, the energy that emanates from this small place will invade the entire room and the house.
Some yogis take a mat with them on their pilgrimages; wherever they are, opening this mat creates a small energy field, kind of like a positive vibe bubble. But for those who don't have access to these things, there is another alternative: plazas. In a plaza, we can choose a less frequented area, preferably next to a tree.

We will note with time that even though these places abound with different types of energy, the harmonious energy created will increase with our practice (and the energy of the tree as well; they are always emanating good energies). It is hard to turn a plaza into a center of energetic radiation, but at least while we are with its trees, in some way we are also in contact with all the Jungles and Forests of the world.
And that's no small thing.

History of the "Global Wave of Meditation"

Meditation for Hiroshima
In the 70's there were various types of "global meditation" all over the world. One of the first people to talk about simultaneous meditation was Maharishi Mahesh Yogui; his followers even carried out scientific investigations about the supposed influences this "meditation" had on world events.
A the same time, pacifists performed global meditation on events such as the anniversary of the Hiroshima bombing.
One one occasion, at the start of the 80's, I went to such an event in a plaza in Buenos Aires, where there were hundreds of people sitting on the grass. At the exact time at which the bomb had exploded, all of us remained in silence; this was also happening in many other parts of the world. Immediately I perceived that an energy change had occurred; it was intense and - for me - obvious, but it's hard to say if everyone felt it in the same way. This was my first encounter with the effects that, in spite of distance, many energetically united minds can cause.

The dream
Years later I had this dream during a short nap:
I was talking to Maharishi about this simultaneous meditation that he had been advocating. Then I look at a watch that I had on, with a black background and glowing yellow numbers. When I look carefully, I see that the watch face is actually a night-vision satellite of the eastern-central zone of the United States, like a kind of map. Every small light was a large city on the black background, just like in satellite photographs. I wound the watch and the map moved. Then Maharishi told me something about how at that moment, everyone was simultaneously meditating. So I close my eyes and start to meditate as well, but in a different way than the famous "Transcendental Meditation": I began to observe my own mind while I was dreaming - something directly related to Krishnamurti's teachings, and I awoke in that state. This dream had an impact on me, and immediately the idea of global simultaneous meditation came to my mind. After many years this project was still just floating around inside me, and sometimes I tried to get my friends excited about it, but I wasn't very clear on the idea. I should clarify that neither Maharishi or his so-called "Transcendental Meditation" ever appealed to me. On the other hand, the idea of simultaneous global meditation always attracted me, but putting it in place in the 80's was another thing, and everything remained reduced to the effects I felt from a cyclical practice of Yoga and meditation related to cosmic cycles, different schedules, etc.
This dream would show it's predictive nature as time went on.

Note: more than 20 years after my dream, in 2006-01-08, the first pages about the Wave of Global Meditation were translated by Michelle Welchons, who lives in North Carolina. This state was (casually?) included in the map of my dream.

The Internet
The arrival of the Internet would change things.
Suddenly, it was very easy to make activities such as this known globally, and I made some web pages about the topic. I thought carefully about which would be the best hours and frequencies, which things could and couldn't be done, and little by little a few people started to take interest. A small forest in San Marcos Sierra, Cordoba, became the first "place of energetic radiation" (a place where one regularly meditates, and, due to this, the place acquires a unique energy charge). I could personally confirm the enormous potential benefit of regular global meditation for myself and for Nature - something that everyone should experience for themselves. Nonetheless, I went on with my life without giving the September 11 terrorist attacks on the United States the attention they deserved.
September 2001 As “chance” would have it, I found myself writing an article about the conflicting teachings of Islam when I heard on the radio that "a plane had crashed into one of the twin towers in New York."
All of us remember where we were and what we were doing when we heard that news. When everything was over, I returned to the computer and sent an invitation for a special global meditation for the following Sunday, September 16, at one of the regular times of The Wave. This event would become crucial, as during the half hour of meditation between 18:00 and 18:30 GMT, an intense energy could be felt simultaneously by different people in various places.

For about 15 minutes, we who were meditating experienced this force, and were absolutely certain that this practice should be diffused, as it is transcendent, lacking any objections, and is one of the things that right now humanity and Nature need the most.

Places of energetic radiation

Every place acquires an energetic charge which arises from the beings that inhabit it and the activities that occur within it. This is even more evident and powerful if the place - a bedroom, for example - is dedicated only to harmonious activities, and even more if it is a natural place, like a forest, a mountain, or a beach which tend to be secluded, not frequented by people. These three things (harmonious activities, presence of nature, and the absence of other human actives in a place) are indispensable when we are creating what we call a "place of energy." What is a place of energy? A site where there exists an intense, subtle energy. After a while, even though no one is meditating or doing yoga in this place, the space and its surroundings still remain impregnated with an atmosphere of harmony, intensity, and peace, permanently radiating energy by itself.
The only thing that can destroy this is - as always - discordant human activity which is violent or vulgar.

How to meditate with "The Wave"

BEGINNERS: It is best if you have just bathed and have not recently eaten.

Look for a solitary place, with nothing going on.
If you are lucky enough to be in a garden or wooded area, that's perfect, if not, a quiet bedroom will do. Sit comfortably with your back straight and close your eyes.

Relax your body, quiet your respiration.
If you are outside, sit in silence with the trees, the sky, the earth. Then, try to feel the other people who are doing this in other parts of the world.
This part is important.
Observe your own thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations, especially your breathing. Remain this way, simple, increasing your passive observation and relaxation; soon an atmosphere of quietness and peace will be generated.
It is extremely important that you PERCEIVE the change, NOT IMAGINE IT.
If it is not produced, that's fine; another time it will be, but you should avoid self-suggestion at all costs, avoid mental images of any kind, just feel what is.

If the change is produced in the atmosphere, observe it and stay in that energy until you feel that it's enough. If this is done correctly, the sensation of energetic intensity and peace will be with us for hours after global meditation.

The changes that are produced as a result of an energetic mutation due to global meditation are: The sensation that the air "is charged," like the environment before storms. In a closed room it is much more noticeable than outside. Mental clarity, a great inner peace. A feeling of "inner spaces" or an "illuminated void." Physical energy, lightness, weightlessness of the body, fluidity. The change is felt by others, including animals, who take on a very relaxed attitude. If you have a physical ailment, there is momentary relief.

ADVANCED: We recommend that you first bathe, then do a Yoga session with an intensive emphasis on Pranayama, and at the indicated time sit, relaxed, connect with the group and meditate with quiet eyes.

The essence of the Global Wave of Meditation

In Nature everything moves in waves. Waves are everywhere, from the smallest particle to the echoes of the Big Bang. In space, waves tend to manifest themselves in a circular form; when this universal motion manifests in time is it called a "cycle."
If we put our hands in a large receptacle filled with water, and we start to push the water from one side to another, rhythmically, we will see that at first the water resists, but then begins to take on the back and forth motion of our hand. The force that we have to create in order to make the "wave" become stronger and stronger is each time less, until there comes a moment in which even if we leave our hand unmoving in the water, it will be pushed by the coming and going of the "tide."
The Global Wave of Meditation is the same.
The few of us that begin to meditate rhythmically, every 6 hours, are creating an energetic rhythm that affects the energy of the entire world. At first, like when we begin to move the water with our hands, we will encounter greater resistance, but later this energy will become stronger with each group/global meditation, until the very energy rhythmically accumulated and freed is more powerful than the chaotic energy that dominates today. In this way, when someone needs a moment of energetic intensity, be it to alleviate himself of a sickness or concentrate his own personal energies, he will find, in these waves, a space he can always go to, in any part of the Earth.
This is the heart of the movement of the Global Wave.
